3 WEEK CLASS - This class starts with the assumption that your dog reliably comes when called in the absence of distractions or when only mildly distracted. We will present our dogs with increasingly difficult practice scenarios:
- Recalls that interrupt eating!
- Recalls out of interactions with a friend!
- Recalls away from moving toys!
These set-ups prepare your dog for real life and sports: recalls away from moving toys are the foundation for recalling off prey animals or decoys!
Recalls away from tempting food is practice for interrupting your dog when they find a forbidden snacks in the street or are about to steal the hotdog out of your toddler's hand!
Recalls out of interactions with a friend come in handy for socially challenging situations like visitors at your house, passers-by on a trail and social interactions in a dog sports contexts!
Gold students will work on the scenarios relevant to them and then graduate to an advanced version of my recall ladder (see Calling All Dogs) to move from practice scenarios to real life!
