C3004: Back it up: Rear end specific fitness

Course Details

3 WEEK CLASS - Do you have a dog that does not seem to know that they have two back feet? Maybe they know that they are there, but just don’t seem to be able to control them! Then this is the class for you!

Rear end awareness and control can be  a tough skill for many dogs. And it’s more complicated than just knowing, therefore being able to control their back feet. It’s a complex combination of proprioception, strength and mobility that allows dogs to effectively engage and use their rear end.

This three week class focuses on helping your dog understand that they have back feet, and they can control them! We will have a different focus each week. First proprioception, which is awareness and control of the limbs. Week two we will teach different movements that required control from the hind limbs, and then in week three we will focus on strengthening, and stretching the hind limbs.

This class is perfect for dogs that struggle to target with their rear feet, young dogs learning body awareness, as well as older dogs requiring more strength and precision in their rear foot positioning and movements. For each exercise there are extension options, so this class is suitable for beginners through to those more experienced in Canine Fitness Traning.
