WW266: Oct 10 - Dynamic Impulse Control (REPEAT)

Course Details

Impulse control! We want it, we talk about it, we train for it. But... do we actually have it? And, what exactly is it? So much of impulse control training is about having a dog hold a stationary position around distraction. The result is: a dog who can hold a stay around distraction! But, is this actually impulse control? And what happens when we release that dog from the stay?

I divide impulse control training into two categories: static and dynamic. Dynamic impulse control is about developing self-control IN MOTION. Understanding how to develop dynamic impulse control is what we'll be exploring here. So, if your dog struggles to stay focused or respond accurately once released (while in motion), this workshop is for you!
