Course Details
Build strength, stability, posture, and confidence in your dog with this resistance band training workshop—designed to introduce safe, effective canine conditioning techniques you can use with your dog who already has some experience in canine fitness training.
We’ll also discuss when resistance training is appropriate, how to introduce equipment safely, and how to tailor exercises to your dog’s individual needs. We will discuss how resistance bands can be used to target key muscle groups, functional skills, improve joint stability, and enhance overall movement and position quality.
This workshop will then cover many specific practical exercises such as stability in individual limbs, postural stability, banded weight shifts for core engagement, and different movements with added resistance through the use of bands.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to incorporate band-based exercises into a well-rounded canine fitness routine.
This workshop best suits handlers and dogs that have a range of canine fitness skills, and are looking for more difficult or advanced exercises for their dog. Equipment required to participate in this workshop includes an appropriate well fitted and non restrictive harness, some light to medium flat resistance bands, and some round resistance bands with clips on the end.
