C3000: Handler Fitness Primer

Course Details

A lot of dog people want to be fitter… but somehow never quite get there.

Not because they don’t care.
But because fitness is hard to start, easy to second-guess, and often feels disconnected from real life with dogs.

That’s why Liz created the Handler Fitness Primer — a three-week, no-pressure class designed specifically for dog sport handlers who want to move better, feel stronger, and build confidence in their bodies… without feeling overwhelmed.

This isn’t generic fitness advice. It’s taught by someone who understands dog sports and the physical demands they place on your body… and why it matters when movement finally feels easier, whether you’re playing tug, walking your dog, or handling in the ring.

No huge commitment.
No overhauls.
Just a focused, achievable starting point to get your body working with you, not against you.

What You’ll Work On

Body Awareness & Core Bracing
Build real-world strength by learning to feel, connect, and respond with your body. These simple drills help you activate your deep core, improve posture, and stay supported while moving, running, lifting, or handling your dog. You’ll learn to brace without holding your breath, feel what proper alignment really is, and gain confidence using your core in sport and everyday life.

Mobility That Makes Strength Easier
Move better, feel freer, and take the tension out of your workouts. Gentle, purposeful flows for your hips, ankles, and spine unlock tight areas, improve range of motion, and reduce stiffness — making strength work safer, running smoother, and everyday movement more comfortable.

Movement Mechanics for Strength
Strength isn’t just about lifting weights—it’s about moving well in every part of your life. We focus on foundational patterns like hinging, squatting, and step-ups—movements that show up every single time you head out to handle your dog. Master these patterns and your workouts become easier, safer, and more productive. Plus, you’ll notice smoother communication with your dog, less strain on your body, and more control and power on the course.

This Class is for You If:

  • You’re unsure whether you’re moving correctly
  • You feel tight, unstable, or hesitant about strength work
  • You want movement that actually supports life with dogs

One of the best parts? The community. You’ll train alongside other dog sport handlers who understand the challenges, share your goals, and know exactly why it matters when movement finally clicks.

This isn’t about doing everything at once.
It’s about three weeks of building foundations you can trust, then deciding what comes next.

Whether you’re new to fitness, returning after a break, or just want to move with more confidence, the Handler Fitness Primer helps you start strong — and feel the difference where it counts.
