Growing Up FDSA - Free Ebook

Course Details

3 WEEK CLASS - A fast, reliable recall is built on clarity of criteria, reinforcement, and how the dog feels about coming back. In this fun, game-based class, we’ll put special emphasis on visual cues and tactile responses that build speed, confidence and understanding, far more than a verbal cue alone.

Through tactile responses, strategic reward placement, and interactive games, you’ll learn how to:

  • Use visual cues and tactile responses to create clarity and reduce latency
  • Increase speed without adding pressure or repeated verbal cues
  • Build a reflexive, enthusiastic recall

This class is ideal for dogs who are slow to respond, easily distracted, or technically “know” the recall but lack consistency or drive. It's also great for puppies and young dogs just learning or building their recalls. Handlers will leave with practical exercises and a new perspective on how tactile communication can improve their dog's understanding of this essential skill.

Ready to rethink your recall?  Join us for this fun and functional class.

Teaching Approach:

Lectures and games are released weekly and include written and video descriptions of each exercise. Students may choose which exercises and games to practice and work on through out the 3 weeks.

Video demonstrations of the games and exercises include the instructor working with her own dogs as well as examples from other dog and handler teams. Demonstration video length varies between 1-2 minutes.  Many of the demo videos are also captioned.

Instruction is suited to students of all levels and will focus on increasing the enjoyment and benefit for each individual team. Students will be provided with both general and specific written feedback, often including timestamps for clarity.  Students will be able to show their work for any previous weeks as well as the current week’s exercises for continued feedback.

There will be a TA in the study group for this class.
