B3003: Training with Opt-Out Stations

Course Details

3 WEEK CLASS - It’s your time to put Opt-Out Stations to the test! This 3-week class will go over the science behind the value of having multiple ways for your dog to access reinforcement through degrees of freedom, and how consent doesn’t always equal the willingness that we get with assent. Next, you’ll discover and experiment with creating your dog’s ideal Opt-Out Station using ACE (Animal Centred Education) Free Work philosophies. And finally, you’ll apply Kim Palermo’s 3-step protocol for introducing an Opt-Out Station into your dog’s training.

Adding Opt-Out Stations will:

  • Strengthen motivation and drive
  • Create resilience for learning
  • Improve your mechanics and teaching skills
  • Allow better processing time for your dog
  • Help proof and generalize your dog’s skills
  • Decrease frustration barking and confusion
  • Build duration into learning and chaining behaviors
  • And so much more!

Learn what the buzz is all about and improve your training with Opt-Out Stations!

Teaching Approach:

This course will include written lectures, step by step instructions, and video tutorials and demonstrations.
