An exercise dot is one of the most useful and often underutilized tools in agility!
It can be used creatively in almost every aspect of agility to improve everything from training sessions, to outside the ring skills, to trial performance, and everything in between. Throughout this workshop, we will first discuss how to use the dot in a basic manner and how best to build up its value, then move in to all of the various ways the exercise dot can set up your agility training and trialing. Essentially, we will be going through every way that you can use your exercise dot in agility and how best to apply it in each circumstance. Working spot participants will be able to choose to focus on as many or as few applications as they would like throughout the week.
And the wonderful thing about the exercise dot is, even if you don't end up being able to cover all applications within the week, once you build up that value and understanding properly, your dog will easily be able to adapt to using it in various manners. And once you see the creative ways the dot can be applied, it becomes easier and easier to do that yourself!
A few examples of the possible uses that we will cover are:
- Tight turn work
- Jumping collection
- Weave training
- Acclimation to new environments/trial environments
- Safe spaces
- Reset stations
- Training structure
- Contact work
And the list goes on! Join us and get ready to set up your agility training :)
