Change your dog's relationship to pressure! In performance sports dogs are constantly confronted with pressure from the environment, judge and barriers. judges, stewards and barriers. Dogs are not innately comfortable with pressure. The most salient reward for a dog under pressure is the release of that pressure. We can use this concept to teach our dogs to manage pressure. I teach this concept as a fun game. It empowers our dogs by giving them a tool that turns the pressure off. The dogs love it! It creates confidence, drive and a willingness to not only accept pressure, but to move into it. In essence, we are changing our dog’s relationship with pressure from negative to positive. This is the third of a three part series. They can be taken individually.
