The idea of “fixing” something as complex as a fear response or phobia might be a tad optimistic … but we can definitely use applied behavior science to help our clients’ dogs become more comfortable with the scary things in their lives!
In this workshop, we’ll discuss the process of desensitization and counterconditioning (DS/CC), and how it can be helpful in treating fear issues in dogs.
Class Syllabus:
- Definitions and concepts (important science-y stuff!)
- Designing a DS/CC plan
- Guidelines for using DS/CC effectively
- Example protocols for specific issues
